The story upon which this episode was based was also adapted by Suspense, and my main review is of this version here. The Suspense adaptation is superior to the Dimension X version in terms of the performances, and also in its faithfulness to the original short story. The Dimension X version differs from the written story quite significantly in a number of respects - such as the captain's back story concerning his wife and children - though the essence of the tale remains the same.
